What was the original reason for installing the gate? Has that threat vector changed?
You could try just removing the gate and leaving the sides there.
I've seen so many movies where perps are attacking and as the victim is trying to unlock the doors, they drop the keys. If you had a remote on the gate, you could get in and if you even drop the keys, you would be safe. Unless of course firearms were involved! That was never covered in the movies!
I could very well be...You sound like my therapist

Well that's awkward.You're pretty hot
The only problem I see with this suggestion is expecting the Amazon drivers to exert any extra time or effort beyond the absolute minimum, aka: an expectation of common sense being applied, which in my experience has been quite rare. How about cutting 2 bars out of the lower portion so an Amazon package could slip thru at the bottom....then they cant reach the lock mech. and you wont have stuff sitting in the rain.
I'd leave then. YMMVI never ever use the front door to enter my house, I always use my automatic driveway gate and the back door
