Hi everyone,

I'm getting ready to rebuild 3 existing NVRs and I wanted to get your input. The current NVRs are running Exacqvision Professional on Supermicro rackmount servers. I'm going back in forth between building new Supermicro boxes or purchasing some beefy Synology or QNAP boxes. Here are my three ideas:

  1. New Supermicro boxes, running Exacqvision Professional
  2. Synology/QNAP NAS running Exacqvision in a VM
  3. Synology/QNAP NAS running their NVR software
I have three separate sites, each with about 30 cameras, each site needing 4 monitoring stations displaying the full grid of cameras, and I am required to store the video footage for a minimum of 365 days. All of my current systems have no advanced plugins but I may be interested in things like face detection, and license plate recognition.

What do you all think?
