Sentry 360 Brand Camera

I've got some Sentry 360 Brand Camera's that I'm trying to connect to Blue Iris.

The camera's as Full ONVIF compliant and h264 stream.

I've got it setup correct from what I can gather but I keep getting a RTSP: 400 Bad Request error

Here is the setup of the camera vs Blue iris...can anyone see any issues?

Hi TonyR. Thanks for your quick reply :-)

I have some other Sentry Brand units (different models) that work fine. I tired copying the same config from the working models but no-go. Its just the IP8180 models that are being trouble.

Here is my config now...getting different error now. RTSP: 406 Not Acceptable... can you trouble shoot more from the new error???

Tried the ONVIF Device manager tool. Very cool. But the Sentry 360 brand IP8180's don't show on the list. The other Sentry Models do...they are Model IP4180 and IP5000's.

The Ip4180 and IP5000's are ONVIF Profile S compliant...the IP8180 is "Full ONVIF" what ever that means...but it must not be Profile S what is the prob.

Still trouble shooting. Sentry360 has shut down from what I can find so their website is still up but no more support :-(
 
Yes the FullSight 8180 and IP8180 are same thing :-)

Therefor the link you provided to the Sentry page it appears I just need to put \h264 in the Video path in BI.

Just not sure why the ONVIF tool can't connect to it or any of that model of camera's. Its like its not ONVIF...but it says it is. Weird...

Interesting. I just took the the stream from the working models of Sentry360, a IP4180, and opened the stream in quicktime using the following... rtsp://192.168.1.175/h264

Then trying to open up the IP8180 with the same logic, rtsp://192.168.1.103/h264 gets me a "bad request" from quicktime. I wonder if there is some encryption or something from the IP8180 or something? Very odd. So its not a BI thing really. I should be able to view the stream in the quicktime for either model.

I'll take any advice I can! :-)
 
Trying to view the stream in Quicktime " rtsp://IPADDRESS/image.mpg (H264) " I get an error "Error -43: a file could not be found (image.mpg (H264)).

I think the brackets (H264) are not part of the string...I've tried both ways though.
 
If only it wasn't this easy lol. Here is a link of someone adding a IP8180 to another brand. Took 2 seconds and showing as ONVIF camera?!?

 
Have you tried using Find/Inspect in BI?
Maybe delete the cam from BI, then add a new cam. Just enter the IP, username and password, then use find/inspect.
 
Thanks looney2ns. Yes I did. Its not picking anything up from the Find/Inspect...same as I can't get it to even list in ONVIF Device Manager. I'm thinking the stream is encrypted or something but I don't know how to un-encrypt it. Either that or there is more to the rtsp string that I have no way of finding out :-(
 
Ok. A bit of progress. I upgrade firmware to something that is ONVIF, and now i get some info when clicking find/inspect...but still won't get a stream.

I now get error "RTSP: 500 Internal Server Error" Does this mean anything?

Here is what the find/inspect gets...

Thanks TonyR. I though that I would be golden with that as well...no go.

Here is my setup, (same as yours) and my error...odd it shows the IP as 192.168.1.103:80 not 8080??? when I'm in the Camera Properties>Video tab.

Any other idea's??? I forgot yesterday was a Holiday in USA (I'm from Canada) but still have not heard back from BI support?

What happens in VLC Player with:

rtsp://192.168.1.103:554/image.mpg?
-- or --
http://192.168.1.103:554/image.mpg?
-- or --
http://192.168.1.103/image.mpg?

Even if you are prompted for user/pass and it works then you'll know the URL is correct and can be modified for BI.
If you don't have VLC be sure to download it ONLY from videolan.org, as other sites may bundle crapware with it.

EDIT: BTW, Perspective Software (Blue Iris) is a one-man operation and it may take a few days for Ken to respond. By being small, he's able to keep his price small.
