I am comparing these two cameras. Is the only real difference is the 4mb vs 8mb?

I am wanting to shoot all the way up the driveway (500ft) and get a good view of anyone that enters the driveway and at the mailbox.

I personally have the SDA5425XA-HNR as one of my 3 front camera's and can't really fault it but if on a budget please don't look past the SD49225XA-HNR this is also a fantastic camera which performs very well and affordable.

The SD5A425XA-HNR 4mp with the > 1/1.8" Sensor is a perfect match but 8mp and > 1/1.8" sensor is pushing it in low light.
Sorry I didn't understand.
Could you explain me what camera is better in the night SD5A425XA-HNR with 4mp or SD5A425XA-HNR with 8mp ?

The sensor is the same for both 1/1.8"

Budget isn’t much of an issue for this camera. I was originally going to get the SD8A840-HNF-PA Which would of been overkill but cool (at least cool to me)…. The size made me back off it and look at other cameras.
I was also going to buy SD8A840-HNF-PA but I came accross the weight is 10 kg.
I need to install PTZ camera on the pole 7 meters high.
Now I'm not sure that I can install it.
So I'm looking for another PTZ cameras with 1/1.8 sensor.

I did end up purchasing a SD8A840-HNF-PA. More to play with on my dock. I have done nothing more than turned it on at this point. Trying to find the best way to build a mount on the dock that won’t get stolen. It is huge…

For my driveway I ended up with a SD5A425XA-HNR and have been happy with it. It was suggested by Empiretecandy.

Sorry a typo

SD5A225XA-HNR 2mp 1/2.8" sensor
SD5A425XA-HNR 4mp 1/1.8" sensor

I would like to think the 4mp with the larger sensor would be better at night.
