The more I learn about Blue Iris, the more I realize how little I know about it and how much there is to learn.
It helped me learn about PCs over the years when I could experiment with a PC without worrying I might “break” my primary PC. Let’s just say I became very efficient at re-installing Windows from scratch. I would leave my main PC alone, and experiment with a different PC, usually a new build.
It would be fun to just dive into Blue Iris and try stuff from the menus.
Am thinking of setting up a sandbox Blue Iris installation on a sandbox PC, so I can fearlessly try things out without worrying that I’ll trash my working setup. I don’t have to buy a PC and can repurpose an old PC that will be adequate for a sandbox.
Request/invite thoughts on considerations for a sandbox Blue Iris setup on an at-hand PC.

- buy a second license to Blue Iris? … trial version would expire at some point so not good enough
- buy separate experiment camera(s)?
- use same PoE switch as primary Blue Iris set up? … several ports available
- …
