Router needed?

Ok so one month ago I planted some rosemary plants outside of the fence on my ranch Property.2 weeks ago some a hole loser decided to steal one.just last night he stole another one.the plants are located at the edge of the property.im about to install a hikvision 2120,tp link poe switch and ubiquiti antenna.is a router needed out there or I should be fine with the poe switch?

you dont need a router unless your putting it on a different subnet and want to firewall them off from your lan subnet

yeah should be fine, these are relatively simple devices pretty hard to fuck up.
