Im looking for some round junction boxes to mount DS-2CD2032-I Hikvision cameras under my aluminum soffits on my garage and house.
Has anyone seen them with cover plates that will fit this camera anywhere? If they are close I can modify the mounting holes.

Thanks

Check nelly security They have the boxes for the bullet variable focus cameras.

Never mind they are for a different camera. Can you just use a normal square box?

You can get something like this at just about any home improvement store

Thanks! Today, I found some white PVC round Carlon box's and covers for around 10.00 like the one above at Home Depot. They have round metal ones also but they would be a bit more difficult to modify. I used a dremel tool to enlarge the center hole a little bit and to remove the external mounting points. I used the enclosed drill template to add holes for the cams to mount on the cover plates. Picked up some stainless washers and lock nuts to mount the cams to the cover plates. The cover plates come with screws and a thin foam ring to seal the box from moisture. I will drill holes inside the box for some screws to mount to my soffits around the garage. This way I can always remove the cameras if I move and add new cover plates to hide any holes. Here are photos of my cams and boxes before I mount them.

I've had to do that for reviews because the mini bullets and mini domes can be so small I need to clear the fascia board on my roof so that the IR does not reflect back on it.

Great job! Sounds like you have water/weather proofing taken care of!

I'm going to have to do one (or more? ;) ) with some outdoor uv/direct burial double coated ethernet wire entering through the side, so I'm likely going to have to go with a metal round box with an added water tight threaded fitting on the side. Hopefully it will look as finished as yours :)

Are you putting the plug of the camera into your soffit also or putting it into your box? Those round boxes look nicer than the square boxes. Too bad I can't find a round box big enough for the eyeball style dahua ip camera

In this one particular case the plug has to go through a side hole due to a narrow and shallow soffit, without interior access and due to the location I'd either need a 15 foot drill bit to go through every rafter tail to run the cable. Or tear the soffit apart which is nailed together very very solidly. That's why I'm reluctantly going to run a surface wire similar to how you get retrofit cable/sat/tel installed by the utility. Exterior rated cable came in today. Fortunately it is only a short exterior run on the least accessed side of the house, and I'll paint the wire to match the trim.

I like the metal boxes. They paint reasonably well too. Our local box stores have gotten into the habit of now stocking black boxes instead of grey ones. Or they'll carry grey and white boxes, but then have outdoor in use cover extensions that are black. WTH? And only in black!!! I've complained about it, that they only had them in black. No white or grey. No grey on order. It's regional whomever that dictates what they carry. WTH? Who has a black house? Who wants a black plastic box on top of a grey or white one, on the side of their house?! I sure don't! Just doesn't make sense.

Anyhow. Ordinarily I'd go for concealed wire and through the center of the box, but this is an instance where I can't do it.

This is exactly what I've done. Parts are available at most all hardware stores, waterproof and several ways to mount and run the cable.
I did go with the metal flat cover vs the plastic.

Good post, Thx!

Do the Hik turrets line up with the holes on the hardware store round PVC boxes? I know they make a few different sizes, so is there a preferred depth?

I could've sworn I found a thread that had a few links to boxes on Amazon, but I'll be damned it I can find it now.

No, But LTS Sells some... Call them

awesome job, I've been going nuts trying to find a junction box to fit my cables instead of hiding them or trying to hide them behind the siding.

If possible can you post pictures of the camera mounted with your idea. Thanks

LTS sells round ones. I ordered them to mount my cameras. They are around $12 each and work great.

Here is what they look like installed with turrets

Where you able to fit the connectors of camera inside the junction box? Or do you know if they fit? this would be perfect solution for me if they do fit.
