So I have done the research, asked around and put together a suggestion for someone that wants to add cameras to their house. I suggested Dahua starlight cameras and a 8 Ch poe NVR, however she is looking to install this system instead...

Id like to know what your thoughts on this system are besides the starlight night time advantage of course.
She like s the amazon extended warranty and the price of the Reolink cameras. She also said the reviews are good.

Blast away...

Hi @grendel54

For numerous reasons Reolink is not well liked by members, you can search the forum for the details.

Note, the reviews also are gamed by Reolink - so you should check fakespot on all Reolink products.

In general, the price maybe attractive - however you will get less quality image capture, especially for low light conditions.

Reolink uses fake reviews to promote its product.

The company lies to end users and spams forums. But this person is now an expert because she can go on amazon. If you are being paid for this, walk away either way. If you install the dahua, she will find something to bitch about too.

well she bought it and I will be installing against my wishes. I do have to agree that for the price though...$699 minus $132 coupon on Amazon. $567 total for 8 camera POE system with NVR. She is aware of the light/night situation.

Thank you for all the info. I have learned a lot.

Its a worthless system as she will soon see. 567 is way overpriced. Some people need to learn the hard way.

:smash:

Very easy to make returns to Amazon.
Buy once, cry once. You'll be sorry that your involved with installing such crap. You will become the defacto tech support.
