Hello,

I have an IP camera connected wirelessly to my router. It works fine on my LAN but when I set-up the WAN I get to the last section of the wizard and the server operation times out.

I've tried UPnP, port forwarding, checked the firewall and turned off antivirus with the same result.

Suggestions?

@DarthTywin Welcome to the forum. Are you using the blue iris mobile app? If so, have you properly setup the blue iris webserver in the webserver tab? Have you setup port forwarding to point to your blue iris pc's lan ip address? Please post your routers port forwarding settings as well as you webserver tab from blue iris..please redact only the wan/external ip address

Thanks for the welcome.

The port forwarding is set-up to the LAN IP address.

I'm not using a mobile app I will be using a chrome browser from a laptop.

From my router:
Configure a virtual server to enable external computers to access WWW, FTP or other services provided by the LAN.

  • IP Address: Designate a computer locate at the LAN to provide services.
  • LAN/WAN port: The port of the computer that provides services. It is a single port and the value range of LAN/WAN Port is 1-65535.
  • Protocol: Protocols applied by services.
  • Note: Settings will not take effect until the "Apply" button is clicked.

Do you have two network cards or two routers? the internal lan and interface should be the same...
Run ipconfig /all at the command prompt, what is the ip of your pc?

it's a pc and right now it's hooked to the router via ethernet cable, but it has a wireless adapter also.

try a port higher than 81...try 8585..make sure to change it in the webserver and in the router...

I could not see your service on 17x.xx.xx.xx on port (8585)
Reason: Connection timed out

Any other suggestions? I'm running Windows 10, have you heard of any issues with that?

to clarify you changed the port in the blue iris webserver to 8585 AND in the router?
Temporarily disable the firewall to see if it solves the problem.
There have been no reported issues with windows 10 and the mobile app on this forum. Also make sure to reboot your pc and your router after setting up the port forward.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Also who is your internet provider?

Sure I can post this weekend. I live in a rural area so I have unlimited data plan from t-mobile.

My router is a Huawei B890 4G LTE router in case that makes a difference.

Thanks for your help.

OK, thats your problem...tmobile will not give you a routeable eternal ip address...this is common with mobile internet providers (as well as satellite)....You can call them and see if they will provide one for a fee...

Sorry for the late reply. There was no way the router was letting me port forward through a LTE connection, so I just set-up chrome remote access with second party authentication.
