Hi,
The lights in my office never go off. I am in need for a good ipcam with good resolution. No need for starlight since the office is always bright.
Recommendations?
Thanks

No it will not zoom in like that. There are dome ptz with no onboard IR that would probably fit your bill and you can have it do various things with presets. Once your ivs is tripped.

There is also a face list but i haven't figured out how that works but thats NVR based.

A ptz wasnt mentioned i your first question. Im not sure but id wager a ptz can zoom in on a preset when triggered.

maybe 4mp 2.8mm lens
I'm curious, how did you arrive at 2.8mm?
If it's a big office, the 2.8mm won't see in detail far away (since it's a wide angle lens)
It sounds like you want good facial detail. After 15 ft or so, the 2.8mm may not give enough detail...
Do some internet searches for lens size vs FOV and resolution.

small office. 12x12
2.8 because I want to see majority of the room.

My cams are outdoors, I can't recommend an indoor cam. Other than saying turret or low profile dome.
Cam performance is similar, it's all about appearance
If you have a suspended ceiling or similar, consider a recessed cam.
If this thread runs dry, maybe repost with a specific subject, such as
Low profile cam for office ceiling
Or
What cam works well in office ceiling
Or
Small and visually ok cam to install in my workplace
