Reccomend me a POE switch

In the process of putting all my equipment into a central location and hoping to put several injectors and Poe switches into 1 Poe switch.

I'm having trouble finding anything that's reliable and reasonably priced.

Requirements are
Must support poe+ for 2 ptz cams
I'm running a total of 10 cams all Poe in some variety including the 2 ptz's (1 ptz is none Poe so will be using a active splitter)
Future expandability will be to no more than 16 cameras. So 16 port would be max.

Recommendations or options welcome

I'm based in the UK so would need to be available in the

If a bit of fan noise isn't an issue, there are some real bargains with used enterprise-level switches on eBay, just a few 10s of GBP.
You get the reliability from the quality brands such as HP, Cisco and the enterprise market they aimed at, and tons of features.
I've had several via that route, and been pretty happy with the results.

That's something I think i may look at actually.
Noise is not a major major issue. As the location is going to be within a cupboard, but obviously don't want to be dealing with helicopter in the house Haha.
 
I've picked up 2 yes 2 (won 2 auctions doh)

For 2 enterprise level managed switches.

The 2 models are

HP procurve 2620-24-poe+
And
TP-LINK TL-SG3424P

So next action is to see which one works best. The HP is actually fanless (I think)

I'll dump the other one back on the bay after I decide on which to use.

Would be interested to hear what you guys think will be the best switch to use

Just a quick update.

I've only received the pro curve switch up to now.

The seller sent me the wrong item instead of the jet stream and diesnt know where or who hes sent the switch to, which incidentally happens to be the one I was hoping to use.

I haven't got around to setting anything up yet as my boiler decided to break so the data cabinet has taken a back seat this week and weekend.

I have fired the pro curve up to test it powers on, I'm not really concerned as it has a lifetime warranty.
I was however impressed by how quiet it actually was for a switch that's not fanless.
How it fares when there is a fair load going through it time will tell once things get setup.

Just a quick update to let you know I haven't forgotten about updating you

a 48 port POE 3560 Catalyst for $38. Amazing. However, never dabbled with a enterprise level managed switch so unknown if it's a PIA to program or if it even needs to be programmed.

I've never dabbled with them before either but I can't see it that difficult to be honest

I'm giving it a whirl purely on cost saving alone.
The one I've bought has a lifetime international warranty so it gives you some piece of mind if ever it goes pop

They are mostly command-line driven for the finest configuration detail, which requires some learning, or text-based menu-oriented user interface which is pretty easy for the higher-level functions.
And there can be a web GUI, maybe needing Java JRE, for simple monitoring and management.

One thing you will need is an RS-232 interface and a DB9 serial cable to talk to it.

Yes I've got drawers full of those cables.
The pro curve uses java gui I believe.
So hopefully should be fairly straightforward.

My use case isn't really for the features as such more so just to act as a basic Poe switch. So hopefully those settings will be fairly simple to sort of it's no already been used like that

It will work 'out of the box' after you've pressed the reset button long enough to wipe the previous configuration.

For some use cases, these enterprise switches are a real bargain.
I got a 24 PoE port 2 x Gigabit uplink one for £20 for our Men's Shed CCTV install I did at the beginning of this year.
A used Hikvision DS-7716NI-E4 with 2 x Gigabit LAN ports for £80, one NIC on the Shed LAN, the other on the camera VLAN on the PoE switch so people can't mess with things.
Most of the cameras were new IMX307 manual varifocals from Aliexpress that work well, plus a couple of used and fixed up Hikvision and Dahua turrets off eBay.
My Scottish instincts kicking in to do things on the cheap ...
