i am using china made ipc-boards in my self-made cameras. They work ok so far, but i bought a newer one and the firmware has a higher level. But i can´t get the firmware as a file for download. So i am looking for a way to retract the firmware from the newest board and save it to a file to then burn it on older boards. Is there a software to read firmware to a file?
I am using boards like this:
1/2.8'' SONY IMX222 IP Camera ONVIF P2P 1080P Camera IP 2MP

If you have telnet access to the running environment, you could probably copy the flash partitions out and see how they are organised with a view to re-applying them elsewhere.
I doubt board like that have much in the way of tamper protection or other barriers.
