Hello,

I have some Dahua DH-HAC-HDBW3802EP-Z camera's connected to a DHI-XVR5108HS-4KL (I had to reuse the old coax to replace old camera's) .

I'm using Using BI and deepstack since a couple of weeks.

In normal weather conditions it seems to work fine (despite the need for regular cleaning to avoir IR light reflection on the lense).

Unfortunatly I have raindrops causing false alarms on BI/deepstack:

Camera's are mounted on a junction box Dahua PFA138. For this model a raincap isn't available as far as I know. Putting a big vertical roof above the camera will maybe give a better camera result, but it will also be very visible and ugly.

Camera installation:

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply.

Domes are going to be kind of bad for that. Even with a "hood" you'll still often have rain/mist/condensation on the dome. Don't think that there's any easy solution for that other than something else which will at times have some of the same.

Hard to see in your image. It's this one:

indeed Mike that's the one on a vertical mount junction box Dahua PFA138.

so basicly the camera is flipped 90° up compared to your image

Yeah, a dome exposed like that will be problematic in the rain. Need a cover or a bullet or turret camera to minimize the surface area for rain to cling to and mess up the image.

Domes are bad for all sorts of reasons, and should be avoided, including this reason.
You could try changing the mounting of the dome to horizontal, so the dome is on the bottom instead with this mount:

But best solution is to use a turret camera mounted to the correct mount such as this:

With this mount

Thnk you all for the replies:

will the PFB210W be compatible with PFA 138 ? Or without the junction box directly HDBW3802EP-Z ?

I dunno's. The yellow box on the right kind DOES look like 20' stickman with his hands up in the air. The yellow box on the left looks like a mystical angelic entity. Both would be construed for alerts! Any time you get water droplets on your lens, you get distorted images. Your camera can not tell if 1' distant or 50' distant because we live in a 3D world but the camera has only 2D images to work from. Hence, as mentioned above....dome cameras = evil. Even for indoor or out-of-the-elements....I would never think of domes but instead go for turrets.
