Question: How to Edit the downloaded files from Hik NVR

What tools do you use to cut the files once downloaded from a Hik NVR?

I mean, it's not so bad to download the file and throw it straight into Youtube, but it would be nice to be able to cut the relevant section out.

I've tried a couple of my normal tools, but they don't seem to like the mp4. For all my camera streams I am only using H264 to record.

None of my normal tools like the downloaded files from my Dahua NVR, either.

The free Handbrake conversion tool doesn't have a problem with them, though. If I needed MP4 format to edit with, I'd download from the NVR in a different format, then use Handbrake to convert to MP4.

Kind of a PITA, but it works.

I've been playing with Blue Iris for the last week or so. Downloads from there work great in my editing tools without having to run through Handbrake first...
