POS (point of sale) setup with DAHUA NVR?

I'm looking to setup POS using a Dahua NVR5432-4ks2. It's my understanding that the POS is basically an overlay of cash register/transaction data that is inserted into the camera channel. Has anyone any experience with this that can maybe help me out? I'm wondering what cash registers are compatible with this and maybe also if there is any way I can test the POS feature by sending data to it via PC? If so, how can I do this?

Is it possible to overlay text on IP cameras video? I'm looking to install cameras in a supermarket and the owner is asking for a POS. I have never tried doing it with IP cameras. I'm looking into using DAHUA cameras and NVR. Any suggestions? Thank you Ovidio
