Hi

I've got a couple of Hikvision cameras and they are both working fine on my network. To access both from an external IP address I have to use port mapping on one of the cameras. This worked fine when I set it up, but it keeps losing its configuration so in the Network/NAT tab I get the Port Status "Not valid" message. I can't seem to get the camera to automatically configure NAT. This particular camera is a Chinese DS-2CD2132F-IS with English firmware V5.2.5 build 141201 but my other camera does the same thing.

I recommend you disable that feature in the cameras, and also disable the UPNP feature while you are at it. It is a really dumb security hole to have those settings enabled by default, yet Hikvision does it anyway. Plus as you have seen it is not reliable.

You will be better off learning how to do port forwarding yourself, in your router configuration. This portforward.com web site can help as they have a bit of explanation and a huge router database to help you find the necessary pages in your router's web interface. Just beware they try to sell you their port forward configuration software and it is not necessary so don't waste your money on it.

Thanks for your reply. I know how to forward ports in my router but how do I set the ports in the cameras so that they are different?
 
You do not need to change ports on the cameras. You simply need to use a different external port number.

For example,
assume camera 1 is 192.168.1.101
assume camera 2 is 192.168.1.102

You could set up port forwarding rules:

Lastly, you probably do not need to forward the server port. Or even the web port (80) if all you want to do is access video through RTSP, like with IP Cam Viewer on Android for example.

I have hikvision DVR 7216 which connected to the internet via outdoor mikrotik antenna . The ISP doesn't have a public IP, that's why I enabled DDNS (HiDDNS).
the problem is even when I tried to port forwarding my ports and checking them by http://canyouseeme.org/ website , it tells me that thr ports not open, and I can't enter to my DVR remotely over the internet.
once I try to enter to my DVR by typing the URL in my browser [FONT=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif]http://eu.hiddns.com/????? ,,, start redirection to one of the public IPs that ISP use followed by colon and the port No. that I assigned to http on my DVR

This site can’t be reached


I went to my ISP and he port forwarded the ports that I assigned to the http , RTSP and server port in my DVDs and he told me that every thing is OK , (ip-firewall NAT - GENERAL - add chain -dstnat protocol tcp des.port the port assigned in my DVR ACTION dst-nat to address ( the ip address of my DVR to port (the port assigned to my DVR) NOTHING CHANGE...

is there anyway can I reach my DVRs remotly over the internet
OR is it possible to use DDNS behind NAT?? coz it seems that my ISP has a specific number of public IPs and use NAT to provide service to many people
