Hi, I'm trying to play a recorded video by my Hikvision Hi-Watch DS-I224 camera with VLC and RSTP. I'm using the following link: rtsp://admin:yourPassword@192.168.1.110:554/Streaming/tracks/101?starttime=20190814T090516z

The video starts, but not from that time (14-08-2019 at 09:05:16), it starts from the beginning of the records (12-08-2019 at 20:17:00)... So the argument "starttime" is not working, any one knows the reason?

Thank you very much!

It will only play the file which the time frame is part of, and form the start of the file.

So, If I've a recording from 12-08-2019 at 20:17:00 to 21-08-2019 9:25, I can not reproduce an intermediate point?

This works for me.
The recording starts at 22:50:46.

I want to stream from 22h53 at 16 second mark.

I'm trying the same and it's not working...

VLC Version: 3.0.8 Vetinari.

Camera specs:

Model: DS-I224
NºSerial: DS-I22420170906AAWR826382167
Firmware version: V5.4.3 build 170313
Coding version: V1.0 build 160407
Web Version: V4.0.1 build 160324
Complement Version: V3.0.6.1
Channels number: 1
Nº of HDs: 1

I had a similar issue with the date format. Check your time zone is correctly set and use NTP time.windows.com if possible.
If you modify the date/time settings, check the continuous recording staring after the change.

Thank you for the help, but it's still not working...

It's still starting from the beginning of the recording... :(

Long shots:
Try the older format:
rtsp://admin:password@192.168.1.10:554/Streaming/tracks/101?starttime=2019-09-04T18:22:30Z
Check your PC date/time format is the same:

I'm pulling the stream off my NVR. Might be different with a camera using SD as storage. I'll put a SD card in my camera, test and get back to you.

Did you find the solution

Try the older format:
rtsp:/admin:password@192.168.1.10:554/Streaming/tracks/101?starttime=2019-09-04T18:22:30Z
Thank you. I can confirm that this old format works for playing recorded video on SD Card on DS-2CD2186G2-I. It also works with endtime. The streaming stops automatically in this case. Be sure to use GMT time and shift accordingly with your timezone offset.
rtsp:/user:pass@IP:554/Streaming/tracks/101/Streaming/tracks/101?starttime=2021-10-18T20:00:00Z&endtime=2021-10-18T20:00:10Z

When you test it with VLC, make sure you always stop the current stream before attempting to open a new one with another timestamp, however it may fail to load.
