Password Issue

Good Morning,
I know you probably get this all the time but I was hoping you could help. I flew into town to help my parents replace their DVR (got hit by a surge). I purchased a DS-7608 from amazon but someone had already set it up and I don't have the password for it. I fly out late tonight and promised to have it set up before I leave. I tried the password reset tool and couldn't get it to work. SADP gives me a QR code and/or an export file but does let me put a Key in or an imported file, but none of them would work for me.

Here is what I put in:

Serial DS-7608NI-E2/8P0820160420AARR592761603WCVU

Date: 2016-08-06

I tried the serial with and without the DS-7608NI-E2/8P

Please help if you can. I fly out tonight and my whole purpose was to have this setup. Please feel free to respond here, email or call. I'm even willing to pay. Thanks
 
Have you already tried 1234567a and 123456789abc
Because those are the passwords for many of the devices which come from china
 
Yes I did. The documentation for this DVR says there is no default password the password must be created in order to activate your device. My assumption is the person that returned it set it up and put a password on it.
 
Is there a factory reset procedure for the unit?
 
Amazon is an unauthorised seller according to Hikvision - stupid we know.

You'll have to return it to Amazon, they are pretty good with this stuff as they know it's a customer return already. Everything is tracked by them. I'm assuming it was actually from Amazon direct rather than Amazon marketplace and "fulfilled by amazon".
