I've looked up how to paint PVC but I haven't seen anyone specifically address the grey UV resistant variety. It seems like paint doesn't like to stick PVC. Who has painted PVC?

Hi Mr D,

Spray primer it with a couple of coats, and then brush or spray your paint coats. Should work well enough if you're not constantly handling or banging the PVC.

I paint grey PVC all the time. This time I used some rustoleum spray to paint the cameras and pvc. If its on your house, paint it with the same paint as your house, good outdoor paint with a brush. It will stick.

Some spray paints / primers are specifically designed to stick to plastic.

My wife thought our organic waste recycle bin looked ugly, so she made it whimsical.
Black primer for plastics , then acrylic paint on top. It still looks good three years later.

Krylon makes paint specifically for plastic. It holds up fairly well.
But if you really want it to last, good house paint with a good primer coat.
Rough up the pvc slightly with some sand paper first.

So then I can put regular exterior grade paint over the primer, right? I should still have some leftover from the last paint job.

Yes, primer made for the paint you are going to use. A coat or two of primer, then your finish top coat.
Remember, you get what you pay for. ;)
