Paint on lens

Hi a charity I work for has had a camera vandalised with paint unsure what type of paint was used.
Any idea of what can safely remove the paint?

It might help to specify the type of camera as the type of material covering the lens ie polycarb or glass may affect the options also.

Apparently the CEO cleaned the lens and is getting the CCTV installer in to check.
