He wasn't messing around with that dinner, it was definitely still moving! Also if you watch the upper portion of the video at the 1:08 mark it looks like another mouse runs down from the road. I thought he might've went for that one as well.
The mouse was definitely alive when the owl swallowed it. The first thought came to my mind was would it able to chew through the Owl's belly and came out alive roaring like in the horror movies.

As a Biology undergrad, I had to collect Owl Pellets for a research paper. Interesting that the owl will encase the prey's bones, within its fur, for release as a Pellet.

Prey swallowed whole is always ingested head first. So, my guess is the mouse quickly suffocates, drowns, or is paralyzed on the way to the owl's stomach.
