hello
i have few limousines with a hikvision nvr and cameras , i would like to connect the rear cam to the read view mirror
I am only finding mirrors that connect dvr
any advice please ?

IP cameras have an inherent lag in them and should not be used on a vehicle for reverse or driving purposes, thus the analog connection is all you find for the rear view mirror.

hello
the lag is minimal and it wont be used as a reverse cam , it is just so the driver can see whats behind him if needed

What does the vehicle's NVR have for video output?
  • Composite (analog)?
  • VGA?
  • HDMI?
I ask because I have found several mirrors that have a built-in 12 VDC-powered LCD display but they have a composite video input.

HDMI/VGA simultaneous output
would something like a converter work ?

I don't see why not.
This one is in a rear view mirror with composite (RCA analog) input ==>>Car LCD Monitor TFT Display Foldable Auto Parking Rearview Backup Video Device

If you have room, this takes VGA, HDMI and Composite and is 7" separate monitor ==>>Loncevon-7 inch Mini Monitor Small HDMI Monitor Portable HD 1080P VGA Monitor LCD Screen for PC/Mac Mini/TV/Raspberry PI/Camera/Gaming;IPS 1024X600 Pixels 178 Full Viewing w/Speaker Earphone Jack

Have they ruggedized conventional hard drives enough for automotive use? You might have to
use SSDs for storage.

The older automotive recorders had the hard drive mounted on rubber mounts to minimize the vibration.
All the new ones are SSD or even SD cards for smaller drives.
