NVR/DVR Offline

Hello,

Good day!

I need help/advice.

I am planning on accessing the CCTV's using HiKconnect, but my NVR/DVR is offline. The IP address and gateway are in range, and it is static.
Should I enable the DHCP instead of using static?

Thank you in advance.

As @bigredfish states, it shouldn't matter whether your NVR is setup for static or DHCP network configuration...

But since you say, "my NVR/DVR is offline", then as @Grrapp states, I would recommend using DHCP... this way you will ensure the IP address and gateway are in range (also assumes/proves the DHCP service on your router is setup correctly) ...

Your screens shots are from the direct connection... try accessing the NVR web GUI from a web browser just to prove the IP address is in range/working (before and/or after you change to DHCP) ... once you can do this and assuming the gateway address is correct and active you should be able to scan the QR code via the Hik-Connect app then "Hik-Connect account status" should change to "Linked" and "Status" should change to "Online".

His NVR IP address is right there. Very top. And he's logged into the machine.

Why cant he look at the IP address? Are yu sure that isnt the 4.0 web interface?

Per the OP

He's logged into the NVR using an attached mouse/monitor... I'm sure that is not the web interface!

I've already fixed the offline issue by adding a router and setting its IP address to 192.168.1.x. My fault for not checking the modem since it has been changed by our ISP to 5G, so it clearly has a different IP address. That is why the NVR status is offline.

Thank you.
