NVR DONT see Cameras, please help

Hi guys, I have been on the forums a while and reading about IPcams. I figured i would join and order some cameras and a NVR from Andy @EMPIRETECANDY

All has arrive and super service from him, however I am a little puzzled

The NVR i have is
NVR4108-8P-4KS2

Cameras are
IPC-HDW4231EMP-AS

if i connect the cameras to the NVR directly nothing happens at all the NVR don't see them full stop.

if i plug the cameras into my router or switch they popup no problem, and i can view them by entering the ipaddress of them in IE or chrome. The Configtool and NVR can see them this way, however if i plug them in the NVR, both the config tool and NRV does not see them

its like the NVR and cameras are not compatible when plugged directly in the NVR


Where am i going wrong?

Do a system reset on the NVR . I would also log on to each cam direct and make sure your network settings are set to dhcp and not static. The NVr should pick em up after you have done this.
 
Can you try to connect only 1 cam to the nvr, does it power ?

You also can try to do hide the cam with something then try to listen if the IR cam switch on or not

if not maybe not POE power from your nvr
 
Hi both, thanks for the reply's

I have factory reset the NVR about 5 times now, i have also factory reset the Cameras

I have plugged in a 12v supply to the camera for now to rule out no POE from the NVR

the NVR Don't see the cameras, they work on the network just NOT in the NVR

i assume i am doing the factory reset correct?

using the factory reset button in the camera menu?
 
ok plugged in a brand new camera to the DVR and its found it

my other camera outside can not be found by the DVR unless its NOT plugged in the DVR

if its NOT plugged in the DVR then the DVR finds both cameras

I have took a config backup of the camera that works directly in the DVR, and restored to to the camera that don't work in the DVR and it dont work

I have factory restored the camera again and still not working :(
 
This is a 16 port POE Dahua Factory reset, I have remoted into the NVR for clarity.

yes that's the way i have been doing it. I can confirm POE is working as its dark now and the red lights are on the cameras

I have removed the 12v plug in now as its going to rain, we are on the NVR only and i see no cameras :(

if i plug them in the local network, they popup! as i have removed the 12v plug in i can not get them on local network at the moment

has to be like a dns, port or ip error somewhere


pics of network config to follow, however as i have factory reset it they are quite standard
 
So your NVR is picking up your local network on the 192.168.x.x can you make sure to log into your cams and check that DHCP is enabled and not set to static, your NVR subnet is 10.1.1.x IF your cameras are set to static, you will not see them.
 
see your pc is 10.1.1 range, you can only connect to 10.1.1.1
other cams are on 192.168.1 range, so you can't connect to them
What did you connect to nvr ? Only cams and pc should be connected for the test
 
my pc is on the 192.x range

that ipconfig was when it was plugged in the NVR to show the NVR is giving an ip
