My Hikvision NVR is in a location where it can conveniently be ran with the cover off. Would this provide better cooling? Or is the case designed for the fan to pull/push air more efficiently?

Also another possibility would be case off with a 140mm computer fan blowing across the board.

Hi @pinecone

The system is designed to have airflow over it to remove heat. So if you're removing the case, you'll want to ensure proper airflow is still occurring.
