My system has been working fine but recently the cameras keep losing signal multiple times per hour and I have to reboot the cameras to get signal back.

The cameras have signal if you connect to them directly. It's just blue iris that is losing signal.

Many possibilities:

  • A bit of corrosion at the camera's RJ45 connection.
  • A cable gone bad (it happens)
  • Noise affecting the cable (fluorescent lights, or large electric motors)
  • You've added a camera, or upped the bit-rate somehow and have reached a bandwidth limit somewhere in your network.
  • You've added other devices to the network that bring traffic to bandwidth limit.

These are just a starting point, but they are among the easiest to fix. The true experts here can provide a lot of help with more complicated problems.

It turned out my router was failing. Replacing the router fixed the issues. Hopefully it stays this way!
