No Audio in the recorded files

I record files on my hikvision using SD card, but while video is ok, audio doesn't play. The microphone works fine and audio is enabled to be recorded. Is there specific codec needed for to playback those files (I tried VLC, WMC and Kodi players)

Can anyone help?

I have a thread on this...you have to change the codec on the audio setup to MP2L2. However if you use the mobile app you wont get sound during live view, if you use that codec. There is no fix as far as i know, to get both working at once.
