Folks, I know all the guides say that you should never build or buy a new computer for running Blue Iris, but there is an excellent deal on a Lenovo i5-9400 (6 cores) system for $389 (after coupon) referenced in this thread: Lenovo IdeaCentre Desktop: Intel Core i5-9400, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD $390 + Free Shipping
It has 2 3.5" drive bays, and 2 m.2 slots. So a cheap m.2 (PCI) SSD could be used as the OS drive, and then use the 2 3.5 bays for large recording disks.
It's a better deal than I could find on older 6th or 7th gen systems, and this one comes with 6 cores and the latest HW transcode hardware.
Hopefully this will be useful for others. It should be able to handle quite a bit of load!
