New to IVS - a few questions

It should capture that, but then again it is a grey car, but there should be enough contrast green for it to see it.

What are your brightness and contrast settings?

Still the same setting from last year:

I am a big fan of fixed shutter speed for LPR.

What could be happening is as that light colored vehicle enters the field of view, the shutter speed changes and some wacky contrast/gain adjustments can happen and maybe the IVS rule is being analyzed against a bad frame that we don't see.

Again, these tight field of views require different settings and different experiences than the normal field of view.

I couldn't tell you. I just know the FOV should be ok for it to work

Its only active at night and it works like a charm
I don't doubt it, but for some reason, when I use the same settings, the MD does not trigger a motion notification. The monitor just shows a "C", won't change to "M" as a vehicle passes. I change it to 50 and the onscreen changes to "M" when a vehicle passes. I don't know

I don’t know about Cs or Ms ? but you need to look at the actual Record timeline in playback.
You of course have to have MD recording scheduled on the NVR to record under Storage…

Lower left corner of each channel on the monitor shows a "C" when no motion or an "M" when motion is detected. When I set the settings similar what you use, I get no motion detected, no indication of motion on the recording timeline and no notification sent to my mobile app. Maybe it's a Lorex thing. See the attached, you can see the little C letter in red in the lower left of each channel

Oh yeah.

I dont use the machine interface or the HDMI output. I do everything via web browser/SmartPSS

Anyway, maybe its a Lorex thing? I know its worked that way for me since 2012

I use the Lorex Cloud app on my laptop and smartphone. The monitor was something I purchased when I first bought the Lorex equipment. It's good for viewing the cameras while I work on the laptop

On the Dahua NVR it will show two figures in red when it senses movement. Doesn't show anything if no movement.

I'm sure it's Lorex firmware gimmicks to make it a "feature". It's to create perceived value from really nothing. It's all marketing hype

Well, it's counting people, just not vehicles. So, we know the IVS rule works, just seems like the vehicles go through the FOV too fast to be processed. That's what I sticking to
