Hey, I'm a newbie as well! Welcome!

Was wondering what thoughts were on this kit? I've been researching for over a year now, gave up twice LOL!

http://www.nellyssecurity.com/custom-systems-packages/hi-def-ip-security-camera-systems/8-camera-systems/complete-8-channel-hikvision-4mp-bullet-dome-ip-surveillance-system.html

Nellys is supposed be good? I've also received milkisbad catalog, and he's bee very responsive to start!!

Thanks for any advice in advance. I think I would get a 16 ch instead though.

I ordered from milk. I got the 8 channel NVR setup and 2-2.8mm 1080p Poe turret cams. I setup a DNS and can remote view it with my phone. I plan on mixing and matching the cameras.
The system you linked is similar to what I have so I can try to answer questions.

Thanks Ben, I appreciate it. I'm thinking of getting 16 channel NVR just to be able to add to it in the future. I will prob. mix and match also. I have a detached garage so I will prob need 2 wireless cams? I'm thinking of mixing these, no necessarily this brand, equivalent from milkisbad

Thanks again!

I should be able to ID someone with something like this right?

I would very much like to know how to utilize wireless cameras with the types of NVR that you linked. I'm no expert but the NVR doesn't have any wireless adapter. And without utilizing a wireless bridge on the NVRs POE switch, how else can it be done? Can it view IP devices within its subnet on the LAN? I would love to try it with a wireless capable camera.
