Should be showing up tomorrow. Looking forward to setting all this up over the weekend. Will be looking for future cameras eventually, but looks like there's plenty of FAQs to keep me busy in the meantime.

Welcome Witchboard,

Looking forward to hearing how it goes with that kit, that was imho a very good deal and you should be able to add some of the Dahua OEM starlight cameras to it to get a better low light image in locations which you need it.

Hello, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. I hooked it up over the weekend and started burning the system in. So far so good. All cameras working as I would expect. I'm going through the process of creating a VPN to access the NVR. Slow going but it's cold outside so I'll likely not be quick to mount any cameras until I get everything functioning first. I plan on picking up a few more cameras once I get these up. Front door, garage and possibly two in the house pointed towards the front and back doors. Maybe a PTZ sometime in the future.

FYI - great example of what you can expect to have to document with your video surveillance system.

Note - cameras are placed too high for good facial ID images unless the suspects look into the cameras.
Also remember to an alarm system to your house.

Got robbed... looking for ideas to make me more secure

Thanks mat200. I already have an alarm system and once I get the cameras set up, I'm looking at ways to integrate them into both my alarm and my Z-Wave network for automation. Baby steps.
