New IP8M-T2599EW wont take a flash complains of wrong type firmware

Any suggestions on what needs to be done. Tried Flashing this Image

DH_IPC-HX25(8)XX-Molec_MultiLang_NP_V2.800.0000000.19.R.200628

This is brand new one from amazon today. Am I just flashing the wrong Image and If so which one does it take ?
 
you can unzip the firmware .bin file, one of the small size file (i forgot the name) have a list of all model it can flash if you open them with notepad
 
A common theme around here is don't fix what ain't broke. If the unit is working and meets your needs, in many instances an update breaks what you had working and provides you with something you didn't need. A Z12E that someone updated and then constantly reboots comes to mind, and a certain PTZ that loses autotracking with an update come to mind, a Hikvision ANPR camera losing half the FPS and ability to read US plates - those are big deals to have happen. Don't do it unless it is fixing a problem you are experiencing or adds a feature you really need.

Further, it is best to obtain any firmware updates from the vendor you purchased it from so that you do not run into issues. Any firmware you find here or elsewhere is obviously proceed at your own risk. We have many threads here where someone tried an update with a firmware they found on the internet and bricked their camera.

Many units being sold are Chinese hacked units that will either brick or go into Chinese upon updating. Some vendors will be upfront and tell consumers that as part of their website, but many do not or the consumer forgets...here is one such example....

He's trying to flash the Amcrest US type camera with Dahua firmware to unlock the IVS/AI functions. Not the hacked Chinese market DH camera
 
True, but rumor is they are starting to hard code the hardware to prevent these flashings as folks have messed it up and then Amcrest and Lorex have to deal with the problems.

more like Amcrest is releasing their own AI/IVS line of camera which carries a premium, allowing user to flash and unlock for free eat into their profit :D
That being said they are well within their right to lock things down (for whatever reasons) if they wish

True...and that is probably the real reason LOL.
 
No the only reason why I am trying to get a dahua firmware on this amcrest it's because with the basic amcrest firmware it tends to crash once in a while as far as the stream goes, the dahua flashed ones don't do it. I don't get any errors on the dahua fimrware and they are usually very stable with no random reboots and loss of stream.

The stable firmware version for the IP8M-T2599EW is Amcrest_IPC-HX25(8)XX-Molec_Eng_N_AMCREST_V2.800.00AC001.0.R.210712 (3).bin. This is also the "fixed" version to resolve the CVE-2020-5735 security flaws. I've been running it since Feb and no crashes or other problems so far.

Highly recommended that you get the updated binary file from Amcrest customer support and definitely NOT from this forum or any other internet source.

I used to have cameras become unresponsice to android app every few days. Have set each ne to automatically reboot about 1:00 am and haven't had any hangs since (over a year).

Hi Shaggy. Thats a work-around, not a fix. You shouldn't have to reboot your cameras every day! What cameras are you running that require reboots?

Android app connectivity to a IP5M-T1179E is the main reason I decided to go with a scheduled reboot. I also have IP5M-B1186E, IP8M-2496E .
