I ended up going with Blu Iris on a new i7 system, Asus AC68 router, Openvpn, and now I am getting the final Dahua cameras ordered.
Thank you all for a great forum where I have seen you answer the same questions again and again, but you do it with repect and patience. It is definitely what kept me coming back to the forum.
