Came across these cams, would be interesting to see the night quality difference between a 6mp 1/1.8 and the Darkfighter at 2mp with same size sensor.

The 6mp still did not make it to the Darkfighter category, making the larger pixels of the 2mp superior for night viewing, the 6mp on a 1/1.8 sensor will still be very hard to resist.

Of course the prices are outrageously expensive for these cams and might be Hiks way to combat the effects of the Chinese market. What they need to know is, users will find alternatives and its how companies such as Huinsun are born and good way for Hiks users to search elsewhere.

So searching for alternatives I found a 5mp with same size sensor as the Hiks above and wondering if Hik is now using Sony sensors for these new lineup.

Both cams by Hisilicon and will be testing the 5mp in the near future $142 shipped. Interested more in the larger Sony Sensor then mp.

And heres a 2mp with a 1/2" same specs as the Darkfighter.

Are you ordering this one? I am looking at it as well. Especially for ~$100 if you contact directly alibaba source. One downside for me is the lens, I would prefer a wider angle.

Clip claims to use same sensor, a different cam though. People capture is well defined walking at a fast pace and from a good distance.

Cant get that on my 4mp hik 10 feet away.

That cam is $600 same as darkfighter, but really nice picture quality, especially during a day.

If that $100 cam can produce the same IQ it will be amazing bargain, btw here is a screenshot from the UI:APTI.png

this seller listing this sensor as 0.01 vs 0.001 in other listings

Thanks for the links, Theoretically the 2mp darkfighter should produce a better night image then the above 5mp due to lower pixel density, All darkfighters are 2mp ( AFAI) and can do 60fps , however if it can produce a better night image than the 4mp Hiks I recently got, then its definitely worth trying out at this price. The Hik can produce gorgeous still images up close, once theres distance and movement, the images become almost useless, giving a false sense of security.

My goal is to achieve a better night image then the 4mp and not necessarily compete with the Darkfighter which might be an overkill for my use anyway.

But yea with these kinds of night images at $100, Im willing to test.

Longse told me the current version of the imx178 dome uses a 3.6mm lens and 20m IR and that the 5mm/40m is no longer produced.

Same deal here with 4MP Hiks, not good enough for night time and large area coverage. I might try one of these if the lens is 3.6mm, I have no use for 6mm lens. Waiting for confirmation from the seller.

Tbh the 5mm looked wide enough to me, similar to most 3.6mm. Wondering if the 3.6mm maybe too wide, or perhaps the samples uploaded on shopdelta.eu actually use the 3.6mm but has the wrong specs listed.

3.6mm is good, I am just concerned with 0.01 lux rating they have on their site. I wonder if it's just misprint since cantonk listing same specs with 0.001

I think they're the same company, both price lists are identical just with different logo so I'd imagine its the same camera. Don't know why the lux rating is shown different. Here's the mini ptz btw

Nice, even lower price on these mini PTZ modules, but I guess these are mainly wholesale prices. I created a separate post for this mini PT cam
