Stick with intel.
Yes, and Intel does make some nice dual port cards; that would facilitate the OP putting his Internet/home LAN on one port (subnet A) and his cams on the other port (subnet B) to isolate them from the Internet.

He did say he was looking for a single port card but I see in his profile he uses BI so since he's opening up the PC it would be a good time to consider it.

If one more port is good, two more ports are better. Cost and power consumption are just a little bit higher, but not really significant. Having another spare ethernet port can come in handy at times.

i do have a 4 port intel server card I've had stashed away for times like this , its in and running,
now i can set it up and place the cams behind it.

Thanks guys.

can the card be pre-setup for subnet lan and ready to test with a spare cam before i move all my cams ?
would like to have this ready so the cams are not down but a very short time.
