I've been reading the forum for a month or so and have started getting a BI system set up. I'm trying to figure out what camera to install at my gate which is about 1000' feet from the house. I bought a nano-station and can get 9mb/s upload from the gate.
Here's the picture from the road looking at the gate.

There's power and the nano-station on the left side of the gate. So I'm thinking of mounting the camera by making a plate that attaches to the left side top hinge. Here's a picture of the hinge. And I'll trim the shrubbery on the left.

I thinking of making a plate that slides under the bolt and extends outward along the wall and mounting the camera to the underside of the plate.
Here's my list of questions and concerns:
1. What POE camera should I use? And one of my concerns is it could be vandalized or stolen. I don't really need high quality images, I just want to know what's going on and be able to seen when packages are dropped off at the gate from FedEx who will never press the call button on the keypad - they're too lazy.
2. Is there a better option for mounting the camera? The bracket seems like to least amount of work as I know a fabricator who does lots of stainless steel work so he has scraps.
3. There is an electric eye a few feet in front of the gate which keeps the gate open if a car parks in it. The electric eye relay is also wired into the security system, so I can get an alert when some on is coming through the gate. Is there a way to have Blue Iris email me a picture when the electric eye trips?
Thanks.
