Hello Guys,

i would like to know If any of you has one of dahuas new night color series in use?

Compared to IPC-HDW5442TM-AS-LED and the low light IPC-HFW4239T-ASE, which unfortunatly does not have a turret Style, which one would you prefer?

The HDW5442TM-AS-LED

....Is the same camera as the N45EJ62

one is the US one is the International model#
So its all just advertising? The New white light Blabla?
We just bought the 5442..mounting under roofs edge @ 4.5meters height. WE also have the IPC-HFW4239T-ASE which provides good Images from the light of the 5442.

The whole Idea is to Cover the area arround the house (House is 12x12meters).

What would you recommend in turret Style that performs as good as IPC-HFW4239T-ASE since we dont want to have the house lit up as a Christmas tree but color nightvision?

No
The 5442 comes in a turret style or bullet style

It also comes with either white light LEDs or traditional red IR LEDs

“Color night vision” depends on having enough white light. Either ambient or from the camera. There is no magical camera that can produce color images in complete darkness. You either have to provide adequate white light or go with IR.

ANY camera can produce “color night vision” with enough white light. Some are simply more sensitive and require less of it than others.

The Dahua 5442 series (esp the NI variants) and the HiK Colorvu are the best low light cameras currently under $500

We have the Led Version and though in 4.5meters height and tiltet Position, the Ground underneath seems to be partly overexposed.

Also Bugs are a big Problem, causing Events No Matter how high the threshold is Set.

Any ideas would be Welcome.

PS: As mentioned we also use IPC-HFW4239T-ASE nearby. Performs flawless with good Image No Bug Events. Is there anything similar with that Image Sensor in a turret Style?

Yes as I said the 5442 comes in a turret,. It is as good if not better in low light than the 4239

If you use IVS you wont have problems with bugs. Do not use regular motion detection.

You need to decide if you want onboard white light or IR and spend some time reading the forum.

Thanks i appreciate your reply. Watched your YouTube Videos some time ago and that was the main reason WE decided for the 5442LED.

However I think you got the last Part wrong here.

We do have the 5442 in LED turret Version. We just want to find something similar or even better without any built in LED or IR Lights but with a great Starlight Image Sensor.

The Light Source will be from the 5442LED.

So what we're looking for shall be in a Addition, to Cover the large area arround the House and should be SD-Card Support models only.

The Idea would be to try some enhanced Starlight Model.

Do you know If there is actually a Difference between Starlight+ and this "enhanced Starlight" Like featured in the N43AJ52?

There is also this new Night Color to choose from..

IVS- such as Tripwire would be great for the flying Bug problem yes -
but this Feature cant be selected on our 5442led. Maybe thats is a Firmware issue?

Thanks again for Sharing your Expertise!

All 5442 series cameras have IVS
On your US model they call it Analytics+

The 5442 comes with or without white LEDS. You apparently have one with white LEDs. (as opposed to Red LEDs)

The best low light camera with no white or red LEDs is the -NI version bullet. No they dont make it in turret.
IPC-HFW5442T-ASE-NI

The next best low light Turret is the 5442 you already have, just dont turn on the white light. Or buy the one with Red LED's and dont turn them on.

Enhanced Starlight isn't a better image that what you already have, its marketing language. In fact I can’t find “enhanced starlight” in any of the specs.
Here’s your camera

There is a term “enhanced PoE”. Which is not related to the image quality, it is extended range for the cable run to the camera
