So after a longer time than planned, and a DVR that randomly reboots more than it records, I am finally moving to all IP cameras. I am going to run a total of 11 cameras on a dedicated PC with an i5-4690/16gb/SSD for the system and a WD purple NV for storage. Now here's where I would like some thoughts on my camera selection.
I live on a T and currently have 2 cameras covering the front of my house and part of the street coming towards my house. What I'd like to do is angle the cameras to still cover the front of my house, at least part of the street coming towards my house and further to the left/right of my house. The question regarding these is would a 2.8 or 4mm do a better job? To cover the other areas, I'm thinking 4mm with the exception of the front door where I was thinking a 6mm.
Any input would be appreciated. I have attached my Picasso level artwork :D for reference. The x's are current cameras and the o's are cameras I am adding.
