I been out of the loop for a while.was wondering if firmware nowadays have improved on motion detection? Do the cams still pick up motion of branches, shadows or bugs at night?

Sure you still get false positives.

Motion detection requires some tuning and tinkering. You can’t just turn it on with the defaults and expect it to work 100%. Dahua's IVS Triplines are pretty good at preventing false positives however. Still, the occasional bug crossing the camera will cause a motion event.

Thanks.i have an older dahua cam with Bosch pir sensor.only picks up people n cars but I think it needs picture upgrade.seen a yt video where it shows new dahua cam and it's amazing.

The Dahua cams with AI are working really well for most people as well. I have a few and rarely do I get a false.
