Motion Detection with Hik/Synology

I know the 1st reply will be to run a real VMS......I have a large Synology@home and just plan to connect 2 camera's 2 them for now.

For those in the know , how does the detection abilities in the Hik. cameras translate over when connecting them to the Synology based VMS
 
Surveillance Station is using the detection events from the Camera by default. If the Cam detects something it will tell the Surveillance Station to start record or adds an Event-Marker if you record 24/7 (which I would recommend, with H265+ that isn't much data).
