Hi to everyone as I have just joined the forum.
I have Reolink IP cams connected to an NAS. Just recently, one of the cams has started missing occasional motion, for example, it missed the postman approaching my door but it recorder him leaving. I was about to reset the cam but doing so loses all the setup but am I right in saying that the motion detection is performed by the software, not the cam?
The software in use is that supplied by Reolink.

Reolink is known to miss things due to the way it plays with frame rates, but any camera can miss motion under certain situations, particularly scenes where there is bright from sun and dark from shadow as an example.

It is one of the reasons why folks prefer to record 24/7 so that in the event the camera didn't trigger, you still have the video.
