Moths and similar bugs triggering recording.

Hi from Ontario Canada. Have 2x Dahua 5MP Fixed lens with Night Color. These use a white led which allows me to control brightness. Have it set fairly low. Having issues with moths and similar bugs triggering NVR recordings. Have no such issues with 2 other cams with I..R. Any suggestions welcome.

Turn off the light and use off-camera lighting? Generally a better way to go beyond just bugs.

I do get them some with my IR cams too.

What are you using to detect motion? IVS is pretty superior to standard MD or SMD

The white light will attract bugs for sure. I’ve had good success with IVS tripwire on my 4K-X using the white LEDs.
With a 5449 turret with white lights at the front door, I was getting similar false alerts so I changed the trigger to Face Detection, haven’t had a problem since.

Willl try these ideas. Turned off motion week back but same issue. Will try IVS tripwire then move on to camera light off and implement off lighting with night sensor or timer. Thanks for the tips.
