Mini PTZ v2: Removing faceplate

Removing faceplate is a huge pain on the butt. I've managed to do this once on one of the cams, but further attempts have been less successful. I didn't break anything, but I certainly managed to bend black aluminum trim. The bottom tab is easy to remove, but the top is a tough sucker. If anyone can share pictures, videos or tips of the process please do share.

just got mine (imporx) and am itching to see if there's an SD slot in there...

do i pry at the red or the yellow mark? ie, where does it come apart? thanx.

got it off easily enuf, no tools required.


i started at the corners, pried a bit towards the middle of the sides (not the top/bottom,)
and it popped right off.

sadly, the sd slot is blocked off. listing doesn't mention it, so i guess i can't complain, but woulda been nice...

sure enuf! i was fooled by the decoy slot and hadn't taken it apart enough! Thanx!

btw, a paper clip inserted into that little hole at the top front helps release that top clip to remove the faceplate.

ah, this is what I was looking for a hidden way of removing it!

yeah, gotta be careful tho. I once tried to open my daughter's LeapPad the same way by poking a paper clip into a a suspicious hole.
Turned out that was the microphone i punctured and and it never recorded audio as well again. luckily, she never noticed...

ah, this is what I was looking for a hidden way of removing it!

Mine came with a tool which was just a large paperclip. Worked great.
