Micro SD card in cam – how to best use?

I have a combination of these cams purchased in 2023, working fine in Blue Iris:
T5442T-ZE
HFW5241E-Z12E
HDBW5441F-AS-E2
NCD800 (Annke/Hikvision)

I have Samsung 256GB PRO Endurance micro SD cards in each of the cams and would like to put them to use.
What are good practices and how does one start to store locally in each camera, in addition to hard drives on the Blue Iris server?

Getting to the camera interface is straightforward and works fine in Chrome.
If there are existing threads along these lines, I would much appreciate being pointed to them, I looked and did not find.

In each camera's web interface set them to record to the SD cards based on event triggers or motion rather than 24-7. The cards will fail eventually and could cause some erratic behavior when then do (larger endurance cards are a good choice).
