Looking to optimize my Blue Iris setup - AI, App, Home Assistant, and Hardware Questions

Now everything seem to work great, just need to address the hardware issue and I would appreciate your help.

1. Could you recommended a low-wattage and small form factor system for Blue Iris + CodeProject.AI (6–8 cams)?
  • Would you suggest Intel, AMD, or Intel with a dedicated GPU?
  • I’ve seen mixed opinions online about using mini PCs or laptops. I have two unused laptops and was considering using one of them, since they can run off battery during outages:
Lenovo Ideapad 3 - i5-1135G7, 12GB RAM
MSI GP63 - i7-8750H, GTX1060, 16GB RAM
Are these good enough, or would you just go with a used HP EliteDesk or Dell Optiplex Micro?

2. I want to add a power station or a UPS which could run the computer + poe switches and cameras, for a day or so during a power outage. Could you recommend any affordable options?

3. I have 2 poe switches with AC power injection located on opposite sides on my house. Are there any switches powered solely by PoE without needing AC? It would simply the power outage setup.

4. Some of my cameras seem to have AI feature built in, should I use that instead of Codeproject in BI?

5. What is the best way to integrate Home Assistant with BI? Would you use MQQT or the BI integration which is already available? OR maybe there's a way to integrate it with pushover to only see the clips or images in HA?
It would be better to open up these requests to other forum members, who have much more expertise than I on hardware and Home Assistant recommendations.

For #4, it's not an either/or proposition. AI-capable cameras provide more accurate triggering, and therefore a reduced CPU load by sending fewer false positives to CPAI to analyze.
