As you know, I live in Texas. My next door neighbor and friend is a 74 year old retired school teacher. I went to visit him once...and his front door was wide open. You think I stepped inside to see if he was OK? Hell no I didn't, this is TEXAS. I stood at the door and called his name until he finally heard me!

You get my point. IMO...she had every right to do whatever she WANTED TO DO WITH HIM...as the minute he steps foot on her property, without her permission, well, buddy, you just gave up your rights. Or, that is how I see it....

I absolutely love this gal. What a pair on her! Lets put her in charge of the police!

You will be seeing more and more of Americans doing their own law enforcement as the politicians decide to scale back and or eliminate your police forces, As I have stated before, The American Citizens are NOT going to tolerate this too much longer.

While watching the video a couple of things bother me.

First, the suspect is really compliant. Second, she looks back to the car to the person who is videoing the incident, meaning she isn’t looking at him and not treating him as a threat.

The man has committed no crime so if I came on to the scene I might have charged her with unlawful detainment and brandishing a firearm.

Obviously, more information is needed to make an informed decision.

This is what would worry me about being a good guy in a situation like this. You never know what an anti gun prosecutor would do.

And I think you know by now that I do not lean left. When I was a LEO I applied my understanding (not interpretation) of the law equally to all regardless of their race, gender or politics. My job was to enforce the law, period.

In an urban environment on a public street he’s right as far as the law goes, unless she had seen him commit a forcible felony prior to the video .... Don’t know if he’s on her private property or not?

She certainly does act as if this isn’t her first rodeo ...

Yes, those are a few of things that I thought didn't fit the story, @JNDATHP.

Also, she has a well shot and edited video. She put it on YT (to attract attention) then says she doesn't want to answer any more questions. But has updated her story on FB at least twice.

He practically offers his name when asked. So maybe he's just not good at being a criminal.

She says the guy has a long record, (she couldn't know that at the time, could she?) and by how he goes to the ground and crosses his feet automatically he's been there before. But he doesn't know enough to ditch the matches? Anybody tosses the evidence if he's up to no good. In fact he doesn't even have a pocket so he keeps them in his hand while he walks out until he can put them down on the pavement?

She has her kid in the car and the guy is leaving the property as he had been ordered so why expose herself and her kid to more and closer interaction with him? Could it have anything to do with the desire to get it on video?

And as yet, yesterday, ten days in I think, the police won't confirm any of it.

Not to say it ain't what she says it is, but it looks more than a bit odd at this point.

Probably. It just made me second guess myself though. What if I saw them lighting a fire? I call the police and hold them there at gunpoint. When the LEO shows up, all they see is me standing over some kid with a gun in my hand. I can't fault him or her for thinking I'm a bad guy if they didn't see what the thug was doing before they arrived. Couple that with a DA who hates guns and wants to make an example out of me. It makes you think what you would do in a situation like that.

Every situation will be different. If the situation was such that it required you to pull your weapon, then you make sure that is told to the 911 operator - 'suspect being held at gunpoint' along with a description of you. Once the police arrive do EXACTLY as the LEO tells you.

I'd like to see more video, some from before it starts to show the motivation, and some from when LEO arrives. That would clarify the whole thing. My mind is still open, maybe she saw him trying to light a fire. There's no way to tell from what is shown. Either it was "staged" or he has been there and done that before. She does seem a little too casual in terms of watching him though.

Agreed. I wouldnt worry about being shot, as I would tell 911, put the gun down when LEO arrives, stay put (not run), comply, and not try to fight the officer as some recent people have done.

My fear is more of the aftermath. The legal situation I would be in having drawn my pistol and it's my word against the thug's. The deck is stacked against legal gun owners in states like mine.

Well, the intention of this thread was inspirit. I like the fact that it displays a person, much less a woman, large and in charge, taking care of business.

On the outside it is awesome, but there are always two sides to a story. I just like the cover on this book.....
