Large System - What do I need

So , I have been working with Blue Iris and Hikvision Camera's now for about 5 years, my camera systems have never gone over about 16 camera's which i was able to use an i7-4790 with comfort on those kind of systems. I had someone inquire recently asking about a possible 48 camera system, most of these camera's would be running at 720p , 10fps with a 1204 bitrate. Would I need multiple I7, or would say a dual 6 core xeon server run them?

actually likely at 30-40...maybe less...hes running 720p cams at 10fps.

I dunno, I'm running 6 1080p cams with all the settings maxed out at 20fps and I'm floatin at 10%cpu lol

Right so, 12mp x 20fps....he would be running 4 times the MP and half the frame rate and a very low bitrate..so it would be 30-40 percent, maybe less.
