We have coyotes like a lot of y'all. I don't see them often is this highly developed part of metro-Orlando but they are here. I was reading that adult coyotes typically measure head to tail usually range from 3' 3" to 4' 5" and the record size coyote in the US was 4' 11" (1936 Wyoming). I'm looking at this footage from last night thinking, dang....that's a large coyote. Sorry for the blurry images....I zoomed in. Using the decorative concrete alligator as a reference seems to be one of the larger coyotes to exist. Taking a measurement of the concrete alligator at the angle it's 38" long. Actual straight on measurement of it is 48". If you measured this coyote with his nose pointing out and adding in 14-16" for the tail you've got a big coyote? Maybe some of you who deal with coyotes on a daily basis might have an idea about this.
