Just got a couple IPC-T54IR-AS from Andy and got them up and running with MicroSD cards. I can see i have "motion" recordings with the DMSS app. I thought these were going to be like every other dahua cam i have got from him but the GUI is totally different. ( It has been about 6 years since my last purchase ) So anyways I cant find the playback section when connected to the camera via Internet explorer. Anyone know where it is? lol im thinking it couldnt be this difficult to find..

Secondly im having trouble setting up a tripwire.. The "Smart Plan" and "IVS" section is completely different than old style dahua GUIs.

Anyone mind helping me with this?

Thanks for any help here :)

yes the new GUI has been out for over a year

On Smart Plan, disable Acupick and everything except IVS.
Camera may want to reboot

Click the HOME icon and make sure you are seeing the full interface

Under Events disable MD and SMD

Under "Record" you will find Playback

I have another question for ya :) So it is impossible to have "Motion/Video detection" enabled and have a tripwire at the same time? I was wanting to have a motion area that records normal motion, and then have a tripwire that sends a notification when it is tripped.

Some times the tripwire doesnt catch everything or stops recording while things are still going on inside of the tripwire area.. ya know what i mean? I could add extra tripwires but then the alert notifications would be excessive..

Yes you can.

I dont recommend it

You should be recording full time PLUS IVS

So the tripwire alert works now but it is not recording the event.. Is there something else i need to do?

Secondly i enable motion detection and now im not getting a tripwire alert..

You have to add Record as one of the items under Event Linkage on each IVS rule
You also need to make sure under Record that Timeplan and Storage tabs are set correctly

MD has NO effect one way or the other on IVS, None.

You don't need motion alerts plus tripwire. Motion detects motion .... it's prone to false alerts from swaying bushes / trees ie wind, heavy rain, snow, moving shadows, insects, birds etc. Tripwires on the other hand will only activate if something crosses a wire in the direction specified by the arrow on the wires and the wires only cover the areas you specify, much reducing the potenial for false alarms. This makes it far more resilient and reliable.

The advice given by BigRedFish on recording all the time is given for a reason. No trigger system is 100% reliable. So the way around this is run background recording 24/7 off a sub stream which is lower but still good quality. Record triggered events off the mainstream. That way you have mainstream quality for anything that triggers an alert, but still have a background recording if the alert fails to trigger or the mainstream fails for any reason. Most of this will be set up in your recording device, but the parameters for tripwires, Mainstream and Substream will be set up in your camera interface.

Knock on wood... but EVERYTHING is working as it should with these 2 new cams from Andy.. DMSS is playing the push notification clips correctly and consistently, Live view and clip playback are working flawlessly now. Tripwires and motion detection working great, Hallelujah! Thanks for all the help!!!! :)

Warning you will get a lot of false alerts using both motion and tripwires so expect to spend a lot of time watching trees, insects, snowflakes etc.

Most of us here use Tripwires + AI to cut the false alerts even further.

I dont think there is a way to tell the camera to record the substream 24/7 and record the tripwires on mainstream.. Im not using a NVR.... Im only using the cameras GUI and a microSD card in the camera. If there is a way let me know please.

Well i will only be getting alerts for tripwires... I will not be getting alerts from motion detection. When you go into playback you can search for tripwires only. So i wont be watching a bunch of false alarms. Tripwires seem to sometimes stop recording after you go across the wire and then you lose whatever happened after that. Having the motion detection as a backup lets you see if anything else happened after the tripwire stopped recording. Does that make sense?

Hear me out... Say you have a tripwire setup about middle of your yard and someone crosses it and then stays on the otherside of the tripwire for 5 minutes doing stuff. You will get one notification and one tripwire recording from that and it will stop recording after your set amount of "post recording" time. So lets say you would miss 4 minutes of whatever he was doing on the otherside of your tripwire. Correct? By having motion recording setup as well as tripwires you wont miss what he was doing during those 4 minutes because it will also be recorded. With DMSS i will get a notification for the tripwire only and when i watch that clip and see there is more than what the tripwire recorded i would then check my motion detection clips from the same time period to see what else happened. I can sort clips on DMSS and the web interface to only show me "intelligent/tripwire" clips or only show me "motion" clips or show me "all" clips. So that is why i am doing it. Because I cant find a way to record substream 24/7 and tripwires mainstream when i dont have a NVR and i am only using the camera and the inserted microSD card.

If there is a way to record 24/7 on substream while also getting mainstream tripwire clips using the cameras web interface please let me know.

Can anyone confirm these new cameras IPC T54IR can be configured using Brave browser (Chromium)? I thought i had to use IE for the settings to stick..

It depends.
Some do some don’t and I use 3 different browsers for my 12 cameras

Figure out which one works for you, by camera
