Issues configuring Smart Events

Hi folks, I'm not able to configure Smart Events, just Basic Events (which end up being useless since almost anything trigger them). In the web interface this is what it shows:

However, according to the NVR capabilities I should have it:

I played around with the video encoding (disabling H.265+ and reverting to H.264, etc) as I read somewhere that that might've played a role but no luck.

My NVR is And the cameras "Lite Series DH-IPC-HDBW2431R-ZS-S2"

Any guidance is much appreciated!
 
According to the manual, it seems the AI events can be configured (starting on page 57). If your system menus doesn't present those options, then I would probably start by making sure the firmware on the device matched the firmware listed in the manual. If it is, then a full factory reset of the device is probably in order.
